Challenge

The customer’s invoice processing system was reaching end-of-life. Without a suitable replacement platform, they could not continue processing invoices for their client. As a result, they would lose a long-term customer and likely any potential new work with said client. Internally, the organization lacked application development, cloud architecture, and limited RPA capabilities.

Solution

The main challenge that the customer faced was total reliance on a third party to provide all automation within their invoice platform. The Ippon team was able to upskill and train them in UiPath so they could continue enhancing the platform and adding additional automated functionality. Additionally, the previous invoice system was technically two distinct systems—one for invoice management and a separate system for hand-keying bills. The new application consolidated this process into a single, unified platform, dramatically increasing productivity (50% increase based on daily reporting metrics) and replacing a terminal-based application with a modern GUI.

Thanks to Ippon’s solution, the customer’s primary customer can trust that their invoices will be processed correctly, and on time ensuring that it can continue providing trusted services well into the future. The customer no longer relies on a brittle third-party application that they have no control over. Further, due to total ownership of their new invoice automation platform–they can increase automation capabilities as well as provide additional customer benefits as client needs change.

Finally, as a result of this application being architected from the ground up to be highly modular and built to industry best practices, the customer now has a product that can easily be offered to new clients with similar invoicing needs; adding an entirely new potential revenue stream to their business.
