AI Use Case Workshop

Three hours to a business-vetted AI backlog. No technical background required. You leave with the use cases worth building: ranked, owned, and ready for engineering.

Challenges

Most AI programs stall before they start

  • AI initiatives rarely fail on technology. They fail on the decision of what to build first, and that decision is usually made by the loudest voice in the room instead of by business value.
  • 88% of AI initiatives never reach operation.
  • 95% of delivered AI pilots generate no financial result.

WHERE IT SITS IN THE PROGRAM

Format

Three working hours on the day, facilitated on-site or remote, wrapped in preparation sessions before and a read-out after.

Framework

Five steps built on the design-thinking double diamond: diverge, then converge.

Method

Individual ideation, then group pressure testing to filter and rank the top ideas.

WHO IS IN THE ROOM

  • Subject matter experts
  • Operations and shared services
  • Business unit leaders
  • Product and platform teams
  • Strategy and transformation

Group size: 6–18 participants per facilitator. Scales up with additional facilitators.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

The three hours work because of what happens around them. Every engagement includes two preparation sessions before the workshop, the three-hour working session, and a post-mortem read-out afterward.

  • Two preparation sessions. We work with your team ahead of the day to align on business context and confirm who should be in the room, so the three hours are spent on ideas rather than introductions.
  • The workshop. Three working hours. Six to eighteen SMEs. Five steps from individual ideation to a ranked, owned backlog.
  • Post-mortem read-out. We come back with the consolidated backlog, the pitch summaries and the named owners, and walk your leadership through what came out and what it means for Phase 1.

$8,000 for the complete package.

Six to eighteen participants. No per-seat pricing.

HOW THE THREE HOURS RUN

Two diverge-converge cycles. The group opens wide on opportunity, narrows on business value, then opens again on solution shape and narrows on what is worth building first.

  1. Diverge. Individual ideation on operational pain points that are slow, frequent, or time-critical. Volume first, no filtering, no debate.
  2. Filter. Line-sorting and rotation across six impact lenses: frequency, speed, complexity, adoption, impact, and differentiation.
  3. Pitch. One-page summaries for the top ideas, each with an elevator pitch, a workflow map, target metrics, and known risks.
  4. Pressure test. The group refines the backlog, adds risk factors, and assigns a dedicated SME owner to every item.
  5. Vision. Portfolio review and alignment on the future-state vision across teams.

    WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

The workshop is facilitated, not self-service. Three things are required from your side, and none of them are technical.

    • Participation in the two preparation sessions before the day, so we understand your business well enough to facilitate it.
    • Six to eighteen SMEs who do the work: operations and shared services, business unit leaders, product and platform teams, strategy and transformation. Proximity to the friction matters more than seniority.
    • Three uninterrupted hours from those people. The format depends on the full group being present for all five steps, because ideas get ranked by the people who heard them proposed.

No technical background required, from anyone. You bring the domain expertise, we bring the framework and the engineering judgment. Technical feasibility is assessed in Phase 1, after the business has decided what is worth assessing.

    WHAT YOU WALK OUT WITH

    • Prioritized backlog vetted for impact and business-identified risk, ready for technical feasibility testing.
    • SME ownership. Every backlog item has a named business owner.
    • Stakeholder alignment across business units and leadership.
    • Portfolio view of AI opportunities across the organization.
    • Engineering-ready package for roadmap planning.
